The official announcement has been made for the controversial game of the street weeks. The servers of the zombie-themed survival game The Day Before will be permanently shut down on January 22, 2024. But what will happen to paying players?

The Day Before, which was released on Steam in the past weeks, was abandoned after failing to meet the expected interest. First developer Fntastic was shut down, and now it has been announced that the game will be officially removed from Steam. This decision means that a small number of players will be left out in the cold.

The Day Before was plagued with serious technical issues at launch. This was enough to frustrate players, who struggled to find enough players. In the latest statement from the company, the servers will be shut down on January 22nd.

The announcement also stated that players will receive refunds. Main investor Mytona stated that it is working with Valve to facilitate refunds for all purchases. Players who cannot get a refund on Steam will receive an automatic refund.

The closure of the developer studio and no team to provide updates to the game led to the shutdown of the servers. The company thanked users for their participation. However, it also acknowledged that the game could not continue without a development studio.

After a very short time in the spotlight, The Day Before failed to live up to its launch hype due to bugs, unfinished features and boring gameplay. This makes the server shutdown unsurprising.
